The first specialized engineering job fair, "Exir," concluded successfully at Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) on December 18, 2024. Held over three days, the event brought together over 40 companies and offered 500 opportunities in internships and apprenticeships across diverse engineering fields, including railway, automotive, artificial intelligence, oil and gas, and civil engineering. Organized by the university’s Office of Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, the fair aimed to bridge the gap between students and industries by enabling participants to submit resumes, attend interviews, and explore professional opportunities. The event was met with widespread acclaim from both participants and companies, lauded for its impactful networking opportunities and robust platform for fostering professional, commercial, and research collaborations. Special arrangements were made to welcome students from other universities, significantly increasing the fair's outreach and impact. At the Exir Job Fair, the "Employment Camp" featured a series of eight career guidance workshops designed to equip students with essential skills and insights for their professional journeys. Additionally, in the "Carrier Consulting Section", approximately 250 students received personalized career counseling through specialized sessions, helping them navigate their career paths effectively. This initiative not only aimed to enhance students' employability but also to foster a deeper understanding of the job market and the skills required to succeed in various industries. After its on-campus success, Exir transitioned to a virtual format, enabling continued engagement for those who could not attend in person. The initiative has solidified its reputation as a dynamic and impactful effort to connect academia and industry, paving the way for future collaborations and career opportunities.
